I think there has always been a vestigial nationalism in Texas. Nothing to worry about, apart from a few crazies who would invent something if need be to act upon.

I got down here in Texas just in time for the last major go-round of secessionism. Buncha jackassess appointed themselves the Provisional Government of the State of Texas and set up an embassy in a trailer (I kid you not). Everybody ignored them til they started issuing phoney money orders. It’s odd how political extremism, at least on the Right, always seems to involve counterfeiting.
