No, because the US Army brought Lt. Calley to trial and punished him for some of his misdeeds (difficulties in proving who did what at My Lai ensured that most of those who murdered at My Lai were not brought to trial, and Calley benefited from his jury being made up of fellow officers who sympathized with him in part).

Calley’s punishment consisted of a few months house arrest with his girlfriend in his BOQ, until a rabid Georgia Republican judge set aside his sentence. The trial was a throw-away.
