I actually know someone who used to live fairly close to Justice Scalia, considered him to be a genuine good guy.

There is also the fact that Justice Ginsburg was a close personal friend.

We can all disagree with this man’s decisions and writings today and every day, but I also reject assholery like this:

I understand where you are coming from…but Scalia wrote the horrific dissent to the Lawrence V Texas case and openly held GLBT people to be beneath the law. He was my enemy in a very real way. If it was up to him, I would be in jail and my child would be in foster care. I do not and will not forgive what he has tried to do to families like mine, and I will not speak well of him to assuage the feelings of others.
