They should be concerned about Trump. In 2012 Romney got 60% of the white vote and 28% of the Hispanic vote and lost. Trump has a 12% approval rating with Hispanics, so he will be lucky to get half the Hispanic support Romney did, and Hispanics will be a larger percentage of the electorate this year than in 2012. If he is counting on making that up with millions of blue collar whites, he also has to factor in the millions of upscale whites he is turning off. Obviously you can’t take any race for granted, but I don’t see how the math works to put Trump into the White House.
