good grief…a chicken will eat anything and coop up at night by themselves…’free range’ is bullshit for chickens…this is a case of chickens being smarter than their owners…an egg is just an egg and what they eat has no bearing, in my experience

Raised them during the hippie days—when we let ours loose, we seemed to get much better color in the eggs. (Our real purpose was to get the gardens de-bugged in season.) The downside was finding abandoned nests with lost eggs around the place.
