Here’s a prediction: In the long run, Bezos will move to eliminate as much original reporting by the WaPo as possible, making it a clearing house, no, make that a warehouse (with digital runners in digital running shoes) of opinions and third party sourced material.

Real reporting costs money, and the marketplace does not reward this effort in any reasonable way any more.

The transition to no original reporting may make sense as a business decision.
