Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford. The GOP isn’t what it used to be. I include Nixon because he genuinely rates it. He was a dangerous crook, to be sure, but his foreign policy achievements have passed into legend. He was no slouch on the domestic front either, creating the EPA and OSHA and proposing a comprehensive health care plan that went much farther than the current ACA in many respects .
