from your link:

Denim is the carefully calculated costume of people eager to communicate indifference to appearances. But the appearances that people choose to present in public are cues from which we make inferences about their maturity and respect for those to whom they are presenting themselves.

Really? I thought denim was a) comfortable b) versatile & c) durable. Let’s add, easy to clean, store and pack.

Indifference in appearance??? Do you know how many pairs of jeans one can own. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have pairs hemmed to wear with flats, heals, winter jeans, summer jeans, good jeans, painting jeans. Some I iron, some I put in the dryer and let be. Some I send to the dry cleaners.

George really doesn’t know fashion.

Or maybe he’d be OK as long as I was wearing denim in the form of a skirt, well above the knee.
