So far, I’m enjoying it, but I don’t get all the hype about it yet. It’s a good book so far, but just not all that earth-shattering to me. Still 1/2 way thru.

Maybe I”m jaded because I’ve read so many contemporary books and short stories that I can’t appreciate the older writers for their vision.

Remember, I watched the first Star Trek on a little B&W tv when I was 3, sitting in my Dad’s lap. Been in love with sci-fi ever since. But we had already landed a man on the moon. It’s always been obvious to me that that the future is wide open.

You’ve got to remember it came out in 1974 and dealt with issues such as homosexuality, disillusioned veterans, and the military mindset.
