I see the Ferengi as basically a race of intergalactic corporate suits who for the most part are only interested in making money above all else and not so much focused on race or religion.

Babylon 5, on the other hand… OMG, the variety of religions JMS came up with. Including a couple where the entire race DIED because they insisted on adhering to the tenets of their faith in opposition to all science and logic.
