I’m not saying there shouldn’ve been a covert support. Though it’s risky too. But I’m sure there was something going on, even if we only so the upper parts of the iceberg, like Obama asking Twitter to postpone their shutdown to keep the good Iranian folks tweeting crucial info. And yes, it all ended badly, but it’s not like Obama or anyone else has a button that would instantly evaporate the mullahs, revguards and Ahmi (and leave the rest of Iran intact).

risky… look at the map. we invaded Iraq to the left, & Afghanistan to the right. we had creditable leverage, perhaps if we had just made a strongly worded statement? No we blew that one big time.
