We seem to have enshrined management-labor as an adversarial relationship, or at least a zero sum game, in our popular culture. And a lot of folk have taken it to heart since it’s often easier and has less emotional cost to treat everyone as competitors or replaceable cogs.

That’s because, in my opinion, our idea of the working world is based on feudalism. Serfs work, lords prosper and any attempt to change this is against the will of God and the free market.

What they fail to realize is a 12th Century social structure can only support a 12th Century economic structure and all of the fancy technology in the world will not change that.
