Because I don’t watch TV, I haven’t been paying attention to the digital TV thing.

I have a 2-year-old plasma TV that is HDTV & digital “ready” (I think). We have satellite, not cable. Do I still need a box?

As I understand it, not only do you not need a box, as the satellite takes care of that, but you don’t even need a TV. A monitor is good enough, since the satellite box actually takes care of the tuner functions.
