is a little bit wrong: the Republican Party is already losing elections. But it’s really NOT because of creationism or how conservative someone is or isn’t, it’s because the conservative “movement” if you will within the Republican Party hasn’t really advanced any new ideas in a while… . The Republicans desperately need to come out with a true “agenda” or “Platform” - I’m sure its one that not everyone will agree with - that is indeed looking forward and putting forth positive ideas on the issues that are ALWAYS with us.

Realwest, you are correct, there is not a coherent agenda or platform that I’ve been able to detect, and one is desperately needed. Right now, they are just reacting.

But I think there are a lot of people who will indeed refuse to vote R if the party becomes identified with those folks who want to try to insert religion into our public life. And those folks are beginning this process in the school system, it seems.
