To be fair, there are many distributed computing projects out there that use users’ computers to do simulations involving protein folding (folding@home, World Community Grid) and other biological stuff to do cancer, etc. research.

Of course, if the government paid for the computers, the GOP would probably go batshit crazy.

If the GOP really went batshit crazy, how would anybody know?
