These fuckers think that they know more about medicine than the experts, and they’ll put everyone they come in contact at risk of spreading communicable diseases that are preventable. These are the same fuckers who think that it’s perfectly fine to get chicken pox, even though getting it is an extremely unpleasant experience, causes lost wages for parents caring for their kids, and could be completely avoided with a vaccine.

America always had an intellectual inferiority complex towards Europe and cultivated a tradition of mistrusting academics and scientific authorities.

Which can be a healthy thing in that it encourages new and novel approaches to problem solving. But I think we had this problem solved through science, statistics and applied medicines.

And when this intellectual Ludditism is hijacked by some sort of ideology and backed with dark money from cynical billionaires pursuing their own agendas, it has the potential to cause untold damage.

I am on the fence about chicken pox, aside from the lost wages for parents, it is a relatively harmless disease, and the earlier kids get it the milder the symptoms. I did not get it until I was 11 and it was nasty.
