This is a change I’ve noticed since 2006 — fundamentalist Wahhabism isn’t a great recruiting draw outside of certain countries, so they use revolutionary international socialist causes, and anything else they can latch onto as a draw.

I doubt very much bin Laden cares about climate change. It’s rather that it’s something that can be blamed on the US and usually is among the revolutionary causes you mention, and that’s what’s drawing him in.

Although I bet he has almost no carbon footprint to speak of, in hiding as he is!/
