There must be some common human phobia about being controlled or poisoned via water.
(As seen in Dr. Strangelove, and all the fluoride paranoia over the years).

It’s a reasonable fear. You can’t live without water, and it’s easily contaminated. Hence, the Jews poisoned the wells, witches dried up the river, there’s fluoride in our drinking water…
