OTOH, it could have been much much worse in Kentucky.
Voters learned their lesson with the Rand Paul debacle; there was some sort of Operation Chaos thing happening during that primary because everybody in the state likes Jack Conway, a democrat. So the thinking was that Paul would be easier to beat in the general than Trey Grayson to fill Jim Bunning’s Senate seat.

This time around, we had tea party lunatic Matt Bevin running against McConnell in the primary. If Bevin had won, ALL of the tea party voters would have turned out for the general. But most of them stayed home because they hate McConnell.

Do you think Paul may face a legitimate challenge in 2016? Presidential election and all, plus he doesn’t have the bacon factor that McConnell does.
