Even before social media, the circumstances surrounding a soldier’s disappearance or capture were automatically classified or at least confidential until higher authority determined otherwise. Wingnuts are showing their ignorance (yet again) when they bellyache about Bergdahl’s unit being told to “keep quiet.”

And the information will (or should) remain classified. I am saddened to see commenters here who appear to want to serve as the howling right wing’s counterbalance.
