Politics aside, I have to admire the sheer dead-ender astonishment that is using double-spaces after periods on a character-count-limited platform like Twitter.

Put THAT one in your brainpipe and smoke it.

Twitter is the only place I do single-spaces after periods and only because of the character count limitations.

I will cling to my holdover habits to the end.
