Bill Kristol made an excellent point last night about the individual who manages the affairs of the Air Force One and the backup jets. It was previously run by a military officer until 1/20/2009. Now there is a political appointee in that position. Hence the F-up in NYC yesterday.

Yeah, I heard that too. It’s an interesting point, but it seems to me that an adult with common sense would have known better whether he was active military or a decent civilian appointee.
