Scared to death! Seriously that Mattel toy they issued us was bad enough, but to give it that kind of power……….
But I did train - all basic and advanced infantry training with an M-14 and I LOVED that rifle - for semi only. On full auto I couldn’t hit a target 50 meters away.

AR-10s and the new M-110 rifles are both 7.62x51mm and they still use the aluminum receiver of the M-16. The M-16 should be able to hold up just fine firing the AK’s cartridge.
