Heck in 2000 I think Bush won the Muslim vote. I took 8th grade Civics that year and I can actually remember arguing in favor of Gore against a Muslim kid who favored Bush.

That was part of Politico’s point. They are taking a group that had low turnout and mixed allegiance and have turned it into a high turnout solid blue group.

The GOP is turning into a party that has to win every white vote to win nationally, and that’s a pretty heavy lift.
