At the moment, however, I’m just trying to asses the viability of this one candidate word, “commoner.”

First pass my instinct was a no vote. Commoner already has a political / class definition.

On further consideration: …governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
We the common people, the governed, hold sovereignty. It has a certain appeal in that light.

At this time I’ll take the bold step and vote…..
