Nah as bad as Nixon was with his tantrums, he still focused on getting shit done. I recently read a biography of his. He was still trying to work on things with the Soviets as Watergate got worse for him. A fucking miserable asshole but he at least wasn’t whining constantly like Donnie French Fry.

I still maintain that a lot of Nixon’s later neuroses go back to 1960 (and to a certain extent losing the governors race in 1962). Yeah, a lot of his career/life was driven by a certain type of resentment (growing up poor and often being excluded from social clubs) but I think things go very differently in the second half of the twentieth century if Nixon wins in ‘60.
