I honestly don’t get the appeal of the Kentucky Derby. Hours of lead-in for something that’s over in a couple of minutes. It’s like foreplay that doesn’t go anywhere. :-P

But at least the hats are nice. And mint juleps are a good thing. :)

The race itself is almost an afterthought

The lead up,, the socialization, the partying and yes, the “hats” as well as the venue makes it an amazing experience
