A professional concern troll I converse with was telling me that he approved of Lynch’s nomination because she’d met with bipartisan approval in past instances. And all I could do was shake my head and remind him that our Secretary of Defense was a Republican who still got ran through the wringer simply for being the President’s nominee. What chance is there that the GOP will simply approve Lynch without issue?

Very little. I’d be shocked if half of the Senate Republicans voted to confirm her or really even a third.
