Dwarf Fortress, a part-sim, part-roguelike, part-hellishly complicated game for PC with a rabid fanbase, which had previously been free/donationware, is bringing out a paid version on Steam with some bells and whistles. Why?
Because the developers have health issues and need a more secure stream of income than just donations due to our sucktastic healtcare system.
