Yes they are. I’m am really conflicted every time I eat pork. That said, as a culture, the west adds import to animals we consider pets, we will eat domestic pigs, but we frown upon eating potbelly pigs because of their status.

Humans are weird ass animals, full of contradictions and hypocrisies. I’m no different.
