Hey Lawhawk…got a legal question for you. Let’s say I stole a shitload of classified intelligence from a country…hypothetically speaking of course…we’ll call it the United States (for lack of a better name). Then I partner with a petulant blogger activist in Brazil to leak some of these documents (not many in the grand scheme of things…I took like fifteen thousand of them) as breaking stories even though some of them are seven years old and may no longer be accurate.

Is it cool if I just say, “Water under the bridge, people…stop treating me like a traitor.” and we forget the whole thing? Does that have a good chance in court, and can we get Judge Judy to preside?

Is it cool? Hmmm… lemme put my DudeBro hat on.

Yup. Abso-frickin-lutely. Can’t do any better than that. There’s your get out of jail/Russian asylum status card.

But that’s not how any Federal prosecutor will see it. They’ll want to see him breaking big rocks into little rocks for the rest of his life. And they’d seriously consider doing the same with that Brazilian activist, and his little dogs, too.
