Let’s try to be more precise here.

What is “bogus”, by the denotation of that word, are claims being made about the study in Nigeria.

To claim the people in Nigeria were doing a bogus study is a different claim.

The problem with so many claims is that people fail to verify if a claim applies to the specific situation at hand.

One would need a much larger cohort and the ability to rule out other factors (i.e., several control groups are needed) to come to a conclusion that ought to make its way into medical practice.

The horse dewormer may very well cause sterility in some humans.

Not sterility. But it has reproductively toxicological effects. Like, causing sperm deformities which may or may not flush out of the system in 9-12 months. Sperm deformities which can cause fetuses to be non-viable, or cause birth defects.
