Thanks for the link. A while back I looked into the Kent State shootings more closely, and the main impression that has lingered is that Kent State made a big impression because the people killed weren’t the kind of people ordinarily killed by police for protesting (i.e., they were white and not poor/homeless/mentally ill).

Eleven days after Kent State, two were killed and 12 were wounded at Jackson State. Somehow not as well remembered….
