Tampa paid for part of the Ray Jay Stadium cost but the sports authority got some of the money from the games and most of the other events there, IIRC.

Has anyone done any serious research on the actual ROI on the various stadium deals that have gotten public financing? Most of the “jobs and income generated by a stadium” numbers I have seen ignore (probably purposefully) the fact that there is opportunity cost and that the money could have gone into other projects that would have generated jobs and income for the city/region as well.
