Chicago doesn’t have a lock on big cities full of cronyism and political corruption. These days invoking “Chicago-style politics” is a dogwhistle to imply the President is corrupt.

I’ve lived in a few big cities in my life, ALL of them suffered from some the same sort of crap that Chicago gets labelled with. Atlanta is a mess, Columbus, Ohio wasn’t a hell of a lot better. Miami and Tampa are both horrid in their own ways too. Part of the problem is that people don’t pay attention to who they are really voting for and what interests those people are beholden to.
