Well, one Republican spoke honestly on the issue:
“Intellectually the President may be right. But this is an emotional issue and people who lost kids, brothers, sisters, fathers, do not want that mosque in New York and it’s going to be a big, big issue for Democrats across this country,” Ed Rollins, a Republican strategist, told CBS’ “Face The Nation” program. “
I guess we need a POTUS that tosses out the constitution protections based on emotions, not reason. BTW, the emotions lead many to not want a mosque built anywhere, not just NY.
That’s the issue for me. How far is emotional response allowed to drive us?
Given that Manhattanites, who actually have to live with the footprint of the WTC are more positive toward the mosque than those of us farther away…I have to wonder.
