Pretty much. I’d chalk it up to paranoia, but given the whole Russia scandal has already involved Russia hacking and selectively editing emails and laundering them through other parties to the press it doesn’t seem far fetched.

Again, you disseminate something that is partially true, enough to pass the initial smell test, but is later proven to be a fraud or forgery, therefore taking the wind out of your opponent’s sails.
