We would have to do a majory restructure of society for that to happen. Schools around here decided that the classes this semester would be pass/fail instead of GPA. That has pissed off a bunch of parents. Some have basically said that their kids are done for the semester. Others, whose children are trying to get a high GPA for college, are just panicked.

When I was in high school in Canada, hardly anyone ever talked about GPA. I never even saw one on my report cards until I was in COLLEGE (graduated with a 3.2 if you are curious). We don’t have SATs in Canada either. I don’t understand the obsession with these numbers in the American system.
