My senator (Ben Sasse, R-NE) weighs in on the Senate deathcare bill.

It’s not cruel enough.

(Goes to the Scottsbluff, NE Star-Herald, more at the link):

“Conservative Nebraskans have lots of reasons to be frustrated: this bill is not a full repeal; this bill is not a full replace; what this bill is is mostly just a Medicaid reform package,” Sasse said in a statement to The World-Herald. “Nebraskans are dissatisfied with it and so am I.”

Of course, Senator Sasse doesn’t mention liberal Nebraskans, because he doesn’t represent us.

The Koch Brothers are his actual constituents, not Nebraskans.

The senator was among attendees at a recent donor conference for the Koch brothers’ political network in Colorado. During one session open to reporters, Sasse was asked about the health care bill.

“The press is here, right?” Sasse said, according to multiple reports. “I have nothing to announce.”

Sasse had a lot to say about health care when he ran for the Senate. During the 2014 campaign, Sasse noted that he had read all 2,300 pages of the health care law, carried a copy of it on the campaign trail as a prop and said he wanted to focus on patient-centered policy solutions.

“We want to wreck Obamacare, but then we also want to replace it with something that is actually workable, that actually benefits our neighbors,” Sasse said at his campaign announcement.
