I’ve been following the case for a while. They are being heartless.

The man and woman in question adopted her when she was a small child. What they didn’t know was adoption does not make a child an American citizen (much like marriage doesn’t). Under the law, the parents have to apply for citizenship for their child.

The daughter also didn’t know diddly about this as she grew up.

What they are trying to do now is claim she is an “illegal immigrant” and deport her to South Korea, to a nation where she has no family that she can identify, doesn’t know the culture, and doesn’t speak the language.

The whole thing stinks of hatred for foreigners, and they really don’t give a crap who they hurt to get their hate on.

Incidentally, it also shows how much conservatives actually care about military and veteran families (that is, not at all, just as patriotic props).
