When I see a pair of women’s eyes sticking out from a couple of yards of cloth, all I can think is ‘you’re not from around here’. Why would you live like that if you are not forced to? Women are NOT chattel in the West. Don’t bring your primitive practices where women have fought long and hard to get the vote and develop economic independence.
It’s a spit in the face. Nothing less.

What’s amazing to me is that quite a few of them are “from around here.” Did you watch the video? Looks to me as if the wives are converts as well. How could a woman raised in America choose to convert to Islam AND to wear the niqab or burqa?
