There are only two reasons that Walker won:
1) Barrett is a poor candidate (though the better than Falk would have been) even though he is a brave and decent person (took on a woman’s violent assailant bare handed)
2) People believed the Republican Big Lie that the recall was unwarranted.

Notice, however, that as the results of Walkers ruinous efforts have become more obvious, the Democrats did much better this November - quite close to the numbers expected when the recall was planned. Walker and company will have to hurry to despoil the rest of Wisconsin (Mining deregulation, etc) in the two years they have left because it’s becoming clear that’s all they’ll have.
