As far as your replacement desktop: look on the bright side. If it’s a Mac, you should be able to use the new OS without too much hassle.
Nope, it’s another Win7 machine as the vast majority of the software I have is for Windows (not to mention that I often have to help our clients with stuff, and most of them are also on Windows). My boss does the whole virtualization thing, running Windows on her MBP, but I don’t like doing that—prefer to stay in one OS or the other so I don’t get confused with my keyboard shortcuts.
The new Dell laptop I ordered has Win8.1—not really looking forward to that, but I figure I need to know it because, well just because (clients and testing websites and all that).
