It doesn’t matter. His hate blinds him to his own vulnerability. He thinks he’s inoculated by being one of the ‘good ones’.

It could just as well be that he thinks that Jews are considered “white” enough to be spared. After all, his boss has a Jewish son-in-law and his daughter converted, and he frequently proclaims a love of Israel as a Jewish state. He could truly believe that the only beef that the wingnuts have is with “foreigners” and he as an American Jew is totally safe.
