It’s not completely useless—it gives Democratic candidates a chance to seize the moral high ground while they lose a few more elections.

There cannot be effective gun control, ever, until the GOP is reduced to powerlessness.

This still strikes me as an ineffective way to go about reducing the GOP to powerlessness in order to get some effective and useful gun control laws enacted.
