My last dog got skunked, twice, before I learned not to let her out when she was positively crazy to go out. There’s definitely a difference. Pot is skunky, but mixed with a ton of evergreen pine tree. Real skunk smell, up in your face after your dog has charged back in and rolled around on your pillows, is different. It has some kind of fucked up unidentifiable animal hormone component.

You all can laugh at me, but I didn’t actually know what pot smelled like for sure until this past year.

When I finally IDed that that was what that absolutely noxious smell I occasionally encounter on public transit was, thanks to being able to ask the husband.

It’s not that I didn’t know people who smoked it, it’s just that they never did it around me…
