I was asked what sort of person would come up with a name like “Have Donut.” My guess would be someone who had missed breakfast. Other “Have” code-names included “Have Nap,” which was the US name for the Israeli Popeye cruise missile, and “Have Charcoal” was an infra-red countermeasures device of some sort. One wonders if this gave a clue to how it worked, since one such device attempted to decoy IR missiles by dumping white-hot ceramic bricks overboard.
