:( The Roi is unable to work at the moment. Hasn’t been able to since last July; and we are not sure when (or even if) he will ever be able to return. Permanent spinal cord damage. The last surgery (the 3rd one) probably prevented additional damage from being done; but the current level of damage is such that he doesn’t even enough muscle strength to climb a flight of stairs.

So…. we are waiting - and fighting weekly with MetLife, which is supposed to be paying him disability pay, but keeps cutting it off for no reason that anyone has been able to discern. Well, except, apparently to make us jump through hoops and give him something to do.

My deepest condolences. I got blown off a rig floor in 1988 (flashover after a horribly managed kick by an idiot of a Company Man- 3 dead) and had to have a lumbar laminectomy. That was the end of my wellhead geologist days. I scuttled around until I got a job as an environmental geologist/hydrologist.

There are always options that open up in the oddest ways and times, My Queen. Please know that I am hoping for the best for you and yours.
