Bitter gourd or bitter melon is definitely an acquired taste, and I doubt they’d put it on a Chinese menu in any Western country. But cooked right, it’s actually pretty good.

I see that vegetable at the local supermarket here (NOT a specialty market). Wondered how it is prepared.
