And then there was Virginia’s twist on it- Lee-Jackson-King day. Yeah celebrate an American who sacrificed his life for civil rights on the same day as two traitors and make no mistake Jackson and Lee were traitors. One can try to sugarcoat them all you want but they did commit treason.

Look, racism is everywhere in this country. I’m in the supposedly done-with-racism north, and I had a neighbor describe a black door-to-door salesman as “that spook”. This idiotic minset is everywhere.

But to sit there and say the South doesn’t seem all that bad racially because you’re not seeing it? Wishful thinking at best.
